Nara is considered the birthplace of sake. Gosho City, located in the southwest of Nara, is home to three nationally known sake breweries. Sake brewing has been passed down from generation to generation using water from the Kongo-Katsuragi mountain range.
The three breweries are the Chiyo Shuzo, known for Shinomine and Kushira, the Katsuragi Shuzo for Hyakurugakumon, and the Aburacho Shuzo, known for Kaze no Mori.
The sincere efforts of these brewers, who take sake brewing seriously, support the sake brewing industry in Gose.
